Explore your art style

A major in studio art at Beloit offers a conceptual and process-oriented approach to the visual arts through a variety of mediums. Students are challenged by art faculty to grow and develop their personal style as an artist through an emphasis on craft, skills, conceptual thinking and an understanding of an art historical context for their work.

Have your work seen

We offer a robust visiting artist program that routinely brings in professional artists to work with students. Opportunities about for art majors to feature their work in the student-run gallery, Gallery ABBA. Senior studio art majors are all given their own studio to develop a major exhibition for the Wright Museum of Art during the student’s final semester.

Sofia Hernandez Crade’13 created a larger-than-life puppet of the legendary local artist Charles Rockey in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The process of making the 24-foot puppet brought the community together.
